Policies

1. Resident/Non-Resident Status

A resident is defined as anyone living within the geographical boundaries of the City of Lincoln who pays property taxes contributing to the Lincoln Park District. The Park District reserves the right to request proof of residency. A non-resident is someone who lives outside the geographical boundary and does not pay property taxes contributing to the Lincoln Park District.

2. Refunds, Cancellations

The Lincoln Park District reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes, or change instructors. If insufficient enrollment causes a class to be cancelled, notification will be given and fees refunded. No refund will be made for withdrawal after the start of a program. Cancellations by registrants are accepted up to 24 hours prior to the start of a program. A 10% service charge of the total fee, ($2 minimum), will be assessed for all program cancellations. Please allow 10 days for processing.

3. Financial Assistance

The Lincoln Park District recognizes there are community residents who may suffer, at any time, from economic setbacks that might preclude their participation in Lincoln Park District programs. If such a need exists, please contact the Administration Office prior to registration by calling 217-732-8770.

4. Individuals with Disabilities

The Lincoln Park District is committed to providing recreation in the most integrated setting possible. If you, a family member or a friend has a disability and are interested in participating in or attending Lincoln Park District programs or activities, we will make reasonable accommodations to facilitate that opportunity. We urge you to contact us in advance of program participation or arrange accommodations. For more information, call 217-732-8770.

5. Code of Conduct

To ensure safe and enjoyable programs and facilities for all residents, the Lincoln Park District has the following Code of Conduct.

6. Participants in programs and using facilities shall:

  • Show respect to all participants, staff, equipment, supplies, and facilities
  • Refrain from using offensive or profane language
  • Refrain from aggressive behavior which could cause bodily harm

The Lincoln Park District applies a caring, positive approach to discipline. The staff reviews rules with participants as necessary; however, the Lincoln Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant whose behavior endangers the safety of themselves or others, causes property damage or exposes participants to offensive/profane language.

7. Age Limitations and Why

In order to provide your child with the best possible recreational and/or learning experience, all of our programs are planned according to the ages listed. Our instructors are sensitive to the needs of the individual age levels. Children must be the age listed for each program by the date the program begins unless otherwise specified.

8. Liability Policy

The Lincoln Park District assumes no risk or legal liability for injuries associated with a Park District program. Participants must sign a waiver of liability as part of their program registration. Be sure to check with your own insurance coverage before registering for any park district program or activity.

9. Photo and Video Policy

Photos and video of participants in programs or special events and users of Park District facilities or parks are used in publicizing and promoting the Park District. Staff does not use any identification in marketing materials. Please tell an instructor or photographers if you do not want to be photographed or videotaped.

10. Smoking at Events, Programs and Activities

The Park Board recognizes the health hazards associated with smoking and the use of tobacco products. Therefore, the Park District discourages smoking and the use of tobacco products at ALL Park District programs, events and co-sponsored activities.

11. Weather-Related Cancellations

In case of weather-related cancellations due to snow, severe rainstorms, tornadoes, etc., please call 217-732-8770.
